Preparation
It is important that you have your quilt top prepared before bringing it to be quilted. Make sure that all threads have been trimmed. Any edge seams should be backstitched and secured so that they do not open when attached onto the frame. Make sure that the quilt top and the backing have been pressed. Make sure that the quilt top has been squared up so that it doesn’t end up being wonky when it is finished. Quilt top and backing should both be squared with even edges.
Backing and Batting
Your backing MUST be at least 8″ wider and longer than the quilt top. I need that extra four inches on each of the four sides in order to attach it to the frame. If you are providing your own batting the same thing applies. It must be 8″ wider and longer. If you seam your backing please do it so that the selvage edges are trimmed before it gets quilted. Leaving selvage edges on can create a pucker on the quilt back. Please use at least a 1/2″ seam when piecing backing and press seam to the side. I can seam the backing if necessary for a fee.
Additional optional charges
Squaring up the quilt – $10.00
Pressing the top and backing – $10.00
Seaming the backing – $10.00
Trimming loose threads on quilt back – $10.00
